Where does my sleep log live?

Mental health and wellness

Most sleep entries save to your account, but the Sleep Diary and your Sleep Environment notes stay on this device only.

This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.

Saved to your account

Sleep Log saves each night to your account. The Sleep Tracker screen does too. You can see these nights on your other devices after you sign in.

Kept on this device only

The Sleep Diary keeps its entries in this browser or app. It does not send them to the server.

In Sleep Log, the Sleep Environment part is also kept on this device. That is the bedroom temperature, noise, light and habits before bed. The rest of the night goes to your account.

When the server cannot be reached

On the Sleep Tracker screen, a night waits on your device if the server cannot be reached. The message says Saved on this device. It uploads on its own the next time you open that screen while online.

Until it uploads, that night is not on your other devices. If you clear your browser data or delete the app first, the waiting night is lost.

What this means for you

If you want your nights on every device, use Sleep Log. Device-only data is not in the data download or in backups, and it is lost if you clear your browser data.
