How do I log my sleep?

Mental health and wellness

Open Wellness, tap Sleep Log, set your bedtime, wake time and quality, and save.

This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.

Steps

  1. Open Wellness, then the Mind & Mental Health group, then Sleep Log. The Sleep shortcut on Home opens the same screen.
  2. On the Log tab, the date at the top starts on today. Tap the arrows to pick an earlier night.
  3. Under Sleep Session, set Bedtime and Wake Time.
  4. Tap a star under Sleep Quality to rate the night.
  5. Add the optional parts if you want: sleep stages, habits that helped or hurt, your sleep environment, how you feel this morning, and notes.
  6. Tap Save Sleep Entry. If you already saved that night, the button says Update Sleep Entry.

Before it will save

You need to set bedtime, wake time and sleep quality first. If one is missing, the screen tells you to set it. If the two times do not make sense together, it asks you to check them.

A night has one entry. Saving it again changes that entry.

Other ways to log sleep

The Quick Log row on Home has Log Sleep. You type the hours you slept, and it fills in last night.

If last night already has bed and wake times, for example from Sleep Log, Home asks whether to replace it. Nothing changes until you answer.

Keep leaves the night as it was. Replace saves the hours you typed and clears the old bed and wake times.

Sleep Tracker and Sleep Diary are two other sleep screens. The Sleep Diary keeps its entries on this device only, so they do not show in Sleep Log.

Watches and sleep apps

SOS does not connect to a watch or a sleep app. You type in the sleep stages yourself. Wearable sync is not available yet.

What happens next

Your night is saved to your account and counts toward the Wellness part of your Life Score for the week.
