Will SOS remind me to take my medication?

Mental health and wellness

Not yet: SOS saves the dose times you enter but sends no alerts, so use a phone alarm or a pharmacy reminder.

This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.

Steps

  1. Set a repeating alarm on your phone for each dose time. Put the name of the medicine in the alarm.
  2. Ask your pharmacy if it sends refill or pickup reminders by text or app.
  3. If it helps, use a pill organizer. The Guide tab in Prescriptions suggests this too.
  4. Still use SOS to record doses. Tap Take Dose on the medicine's card.

What the screens do

When you add a medicine, you can enter Time(s) per Day. SOS uses these times for your Schedule tab, and the Morning Brief lists doses you have not logged yet. It does not send a notification at those times.

The Due Now box and the Refill Reminders list are notes on the screen. They show only when you open the screen.

A button that says reminder

In Drug Interactions, on the My Medications tab, Add Reminder saves a mark on this device. The message says the medicine will appear in your Morning Brief. It does not send an alert.

Your Morning Brief lists today's doses that are not logged yet, whether or not you tapped that button.

Why we say this

A missed dose can matter. Please do not count on SOS to remind you. The notification settings say that most reminder types are not sent yet.

For a missed dose, ask your pharmacist or the prescriber what to do. SOS cannot tell you.
