How do I turn notifications on or off?

Settings

The switches are saved, but SOS does not send most of these reminders yet.

This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.

Steps

  1. Open Settings and tap Notification Preferences.
  2. If you see Enable Push Notifications, tap it and allow notifications when your device asks. It does not show in a web browser.
  3. Use the Push Notifications switch to pause or resume all of your choices.
  4. Switch single reminders on or off. Many also have a time, days or an interval to choose.

Most reminders are not sent yet

Nothing in SOS reads these choices to send a reminder today. The screen says most of them are not sent yet.

That covers the sleep, medication, hydration, mood check-in, workout and streak reminders.

It also covers the budget review, bill due date, weekly review and learning goal reminders.

The circle activity, challenge check-in and new message switches are in the same state.

What does work

Reminders you set up inside a feature are separate. The Morning Brief reminder and the Daily Practice Reminder on the Human Accord screen are scheduled on your phone, so they need the mobile app.

The Pomodoro timer also alerts you when a session ends.

The guide on missing reminders covers these.

Where your choices are saved

All of your choices are saved on this device.

Five also go to your account: Streak Saver Alert, Daily Mood Check-In, Weekly Review, Circle Activity and Learning Goal Reminder.

If SOS cannot save them to your account, it says so and offers Try again.

Every switch starts on except Medication Reminders, Learning Goal Reminder and Bill Due Date Alerts.

Medication reminders

The screen says Medication Reminders does not send alerts. Reminders for each medication show in your Morning Brief.

SOS does not alert you when it is time for a medicine. If you need an alert, use your phone's own alarm.

On the web

The web version of SOS cannot receive push notifications yet. The screen shows a note about it.

Messages and replies inside SOS

Replies, likes, follows and messages from other members show up in the Notifications list in Community. These switches do not turn them off.

To stop hearing from a person, mute or block them.
