Where are my replies and notifications?
Tap the bell at the top of the Commons screen to see replies, likes, follows and messages.
This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.
Steps
- Open the Commons tab.
- Tap the bell at the top right (Open notifications). You can also tap Notifications on the Connect tab.
- On the Notifications tab, choose All or Unread. New items come first, and older ones sit under Earlier.
- Tap a notification to open the post, thread, profile or conversation it is about.
- Tap Mark all read to clear the dots. To delete one, press and hold it.
- The Activity tab shows what you did in the community recently.
There is no bell on Home
The bell is inside the Commons. Home does not have one.
The Commons tab shows a number only for connection requests waiting for you. Messages have their own small dot on the speech bubble button.
What sends a notification
Someone commented on your post, thread, article or event. Someone replied to your comment, mentioned you, or liked your post.
Someone followed you, asked to connect, or accepted your request. Someone sent you a message. Someone answered your Mutual Aid request or offer.
You never get one for your own actions, and you do not get one from a person you blocked or muted.
A notification names the person and says what happened. It does not copy their words.
Alerts outside the app
The gear button on the Notifications screen opens Settings, then Notifications. That screen says that most reminders are not sent yet.
