How do I block, mute or hide someone?
Open the options menu on a post or profile and choose Hide, Mute or Block.
This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.
Steps
- To hide one post, tap the three-dot Post options button on it and choose Hide this post for me.
- To mute or block a member from a post, open Post options and choose Mute or Block with their name. Block asks you to confirm first.
- From a profile, tap the more button at the top and choose Mute, Report or Block.
- From a direct message, open the menu at the top and choose Block. Mute conversation is different: it stops the unread count, and their messages still arrive.
Hide this post for me
The post is hidden on this device only. Nothing is sent to anyone.
Mute
A muted member's posts are hidden from your feed. They are not told.
A muted member can still message you or ask to connect.
Block
A blocked member's posts and comments are hidden from your feeds. They cannot comment on your posts in the community feed.
They cannot message you, follow you or send you a connection request. They are not told that you blocked them.
Any follow or connection between you is removed, and your conversation leaves your inbox.
Mute conversation
Mute conversation stops the unread count for that conversation. Its messages still arrive. To undo it, open the conversation menu and choose Unmute conversation.
If someone is being unsafe
Blocking and muting do not tell our team anything. If someone is being unsafe, use Report so a moderator can look.
What happens next
You can undo hiding, muting and blocking in Settings, under Blocked and muted.
