Can staff read my journal or mood notes?

Privacy and your data

Staff cannot open your journal or mood notes, but the person who runs the server could read them.

What staff can see

Staff with an administrator or manager role can see account details, feedback you send, reports about content and Usage Analytics rows.

The app's roles are not set up to let staff read your health, finance or journal entries. Only your own account can open them.

Staff do not monitor journals or mood notes. No alert goes to staff about what you write in them.

What staff are alerted about

Staff are alerted when a member sends feedback or files a report about content.

That is what you write in a Help note (Help button, then Send a note) or in a report. It is not your journal.

The honest limit

The person who runs the server can technically read anything stored there, because the database is not encrypted record by record.

The privacy policy says our practice is to look at member content in only three cases. These are to keep the service running, to deal with a report of abuse or danger, and when the law requires it.

On your device

When you type in the journal, the app checks your words on your device for signs of distress. If it finds some, it shows a support banner.

That check is not stored or sent anywhere.

A private place for notes

The Encrypted Vault is encrypted on your own device, so it is not readable on the server.
