How do I download my data?
Open Settings, tap Download My Data, pick what to include, then save the file.
This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.
Steps
- Open Settings. In the Privacy & Data group, tap Download My Data. The Data Export Center opens.
- For one file with your records, tap the Privacy tab, then tap Download My Data. Wait while the button shows that it is working.
- To choose what goes in, tap the Select tab instead.
- If the Select tab shows categories, pick the ones you want (Wellness, Fitness, Wealth, Goals, Intel or Community), a date range and a format. Then tap the Export button at the bottom.
- If the Select tab shows areas, open one and download a kind of record as a CSV file.
- Save the file. On a phone, the share sheet opens. In a browser, the file downloads.
Which download you get
SOS has two versions of the Privacy tab download. The note above the Download My Data button says which one you have.
The full download is one JSON file. It holds your account details and your date of birth if you gave us one. It also has a section for each kind of record you have saved on our server. Kinds you never used are left out.
The shorter download holds your profile and your app preferences, such as default views. It also holds your main records: health, sleep, workout and food logs, transactions, goals, habit logs and journal entries. Many other tools are not included in it yet.
While a full download runs, a line under the button shows how many kinds of records have been checked.
Quicker ways
On the Overview tab, Quick Exports make a CSV of the last 90 days, a health report or a wealth summary.
Which format to pick
With categories, JSON keeps every field of each record. CSV keeps only a few columns, such as the date, a value and a note.
A Text Report only counts the records in each category. It does not list them.
With areas, each kind of record comes as one CSV file that opens in a spreadsheet app.
Good to know
The file is put together on your device. SOS does not upload it anywhere. You choose where to save or share it.
The file holds personal information, so keep it somewhere you trust.
Entries kept only on your device are not on our server, so they are not in either download. If a tool has its own export, use that. If not, write down anything you cannot afford to lose.
If a download fails, the screen says what happened and nothing is changed. You can start a full download only a few times an hour.
What happens next
If something you expected is not in the file, see the related article about what a download leaves out and how to ask for more.
