My download is missing some things
A download leaves out entries kept only on your device, and the shorter download leaves out many other tools.
This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.
What the Privacy tab download holds
The Download My Data button on the Privacy tab makes one JSON file. The note above the button says which version you get.
The full download holds your account details and your date of birth if you gave us one. It also has a section for each kind of record you have saved on our server. Kinds you never used are left out.
The shorter download holds your profile and your app preferences. It also holds these records: health logs, sleep logs, workout logs, food logs, transactions, goals, habit logs and journal entries.
What the Select tab covers
With the shorter download, the Select tab has six categories: Wellness, Fitness, Wealth, Goals, Intel and Community.
Each one reads only a few kinds of record. Community, for example, has challenge check-ins and circle membership.
With the full download, the Select tab lists the kinds of record by area. Each kind comes as one CSV file.
What is never in a download
Entries kept only on your device are not on the server, so they are not in a download. Examples are the Encrypted Vault, your safety plan, and the Net Worth, Streaks, Habit Stacking and Side Hustle tools.
Staff notes about your account are not in the file either. To ask about those, or about anything else we hold, write to admin@sosforchange.org.
With the shorter download, many other tools are not included yet. The last section below says how to ask for those records.
Why a file can look empty
A Text Report lists how many records each category has, not the records. Use JSON or CSV to get the entries.
With categories, CSV has only a few columns. JSON keeps every field.
If SOS cannot read a category when you export it, that category can come out empty without a warning. Check your connection and export again.
If the full download cannot read a kind of record, the screen says how many were skipped and the file lists them under skipped. Try again later to get them.
Ask for the rest
To ask for a copy of everything SOS holds about you, write to admin@sosforchange.org from your account email address. Put "Privacy request" in the subject.
We read every note. We can't promise a reply time.
