I still see the old version

Fix a problem

Tap Refresh when SOS says a new version is ready, or close every SOS tab and open it again.

Steps

  1. If you see A new version is ready at the top, tap Refresh. Save anything you are typing first, because Refresh reloads the page.
  2. If the notice is gone, reload the page. A reload always asks our server for the newest version.
  3. Still old? Close every SOS tab and window, then open SOS again. On a phone, close the browser or the home screen app completely.
  4. Open the Help status page and tap Repair the app files. Your saved entries stay, and you stay signed in if Keep me signed in is ticked.
  5. If that does not help, clear this site's data. The article on clearing saved files has the steps.

Why it happens

After we release an update, a tab that was already open keeps running the old version until it is reloaded.

SOS never reloads by itself, because that would throw away what you are typing. It shows the notice and waits.

About the notice

SOS looks for a new version when you come back to the tab, at most every 10 minutes.

If you tap Not now, the notice stays away until the next update.
