Does SOS work offline?
SOS can open offline after you have used it, but it cannot load or save your data without a connection.
What works offline
SOS keeps a saved copy of the page that starts the app. After you have opened SOS once while online, it can open again without a connection.
A screen you opened before can open again offline. A screen you never opened on this device cannot.
What does not work offline
Your data. Entries, lists and the community all come from the SOS server, and the saved copy never includes them or anything you type.
Saving needs a connection. Most tools do not hold an entry back to send later. A few, such as the Sleep Tracker, keep an entry on your device and upload it when you are connected.
What you will see
When your device goes offline, a banner says You're offline. Changes can't be saved right now. Some screens turn their Save buttons off while you are offline.
Full offline use for core tools is not available yet.
If you need help right now
If SOS is already open, the Get help now button works without a connection. If SOS cannot open and has no saved copy, it shows a short page with crisis numbers.
If you need to talk to someone now: Call or text 988 at any time to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. You can also text HOME to 741741 to reach the Crisis Text Line. If you are in danger right now, call 911.
What happens next
Wait until you are back online before you save something important, then check that it shows up in the tool's list.
