I can't sign in

Account and sign-in

Check the email you typed, then use Forgot Password if the password still fails.

Steps

  1. Check the Email box. You sign in with your email address, not a username. Capital letters count, so type it the way you did when you signed up.
  2. Tap the eye icon in the Password box to see what you typed. Check for a wrong letter, and check that Caps Lock is off.
  3. Still not working? Tap Forgot Password?, type your email and tap Send reset link. Check your inbox and your spam or junk folder. The email comes from Solution Oriented Society, and the link works for 30 minutes.
  4. Another way in: if you see Email me a sign-in code under the Sign In button, tap it. We email an 8-digit code that works for 3 minutes. It needs no password.
  5. Not sure which email you used? Tap Forgot your email or username? and type an address you might have used.
  6. If the screen says "Too many tries. Wait a moment and try again.", stop tapping. The Sign In button counts down for 5 seconds, or for 60 seconds if it happens again within a minute.
  7. Still stuck? Write to admin@sosforchange.org from the address you signed up with.

What the messages mean

"Those credentials didn't match" means the email and password were not accepted together. It does not say which one is wrong.

After two of these messages within 10 minutes, a card called Still not getting in? appears. It has an Email me a reset link button and a Forgot which email? link.

"Too many tries. Wait a moment and try again." means SOS is limiting sign-in tries. The Sign In button turns off and counts down, then you can try again.

"Network error" means your device could not reach SOS. Check your connection and try again.

"We couldn't finish signing you in" means the sign-in came back, but this device did not accept it. The screen then checks your device clock against SOS and says what it found. A wrong date or time can cause this.

A long message that says "The request doesn't satisfy the collection requirements to authenticate" means the account is suspended. Write to admin@sosforchange.org from the address you signed up with.

What happens next

Once you are in, SOS keeps you signed in if Keep me signed in is ticked.
