Why can other people see my username? Can I change it?
Other members can see the name you chose, and you can change it in Edit Profile.
Steps
- In Community, open Growth Profile. It shows your own profile. Tap Edit.
- Change the Display Name box to the name you want others to see.
- Under Who can find you, choose Listed in the member directory, or Not listed to stay out of the member search.
- Tap Save.
What others can see
Other signed-in members can see your public username. In the member directory they can find you by your name and your interests.
The note under Listed in the member directory says whether they can also see your bio, location, skills and what you are looking for.
Your email address and your date of birth are not shown to other members.
If you would rather keep your real name private, choose a different name.
About Not listed
Not listed leaves you out of the member directory, so members cannot find you by searching. Your name can still show on things you post.
Where SOS looks names up, it may show a neutral label such as Member. The note under Not listed says whether people you already message, follow or are connected with still see your name.
What happens next
You do not sign in with your public username. You sign in with your email address.
