Sign-up says my email or username is already used
If sign-up refuses your email, an account may already use it, so try signing in.
Steps
- Read the message. Each one starts with the name of the box it is about, such as Email or Public username.
- If it is about Email, check the spelling. A mistyped address gets a message that it doesn't look like an email address.
- You may have signed up before. If the message says an account already uses the email, a box called Already registered? appears. Tap Sign in, or Reset your password if you forgot it.
- Not sure which email you used? Tap Forgot your email or username? on the sign-in screen.
- If you want a new account, use a different email address.
About the public username
SOS does not need public usernames to differ from each other, so a name someone else uses should not block you.
A public username needs at least 3 characters. It can have up to 50.
You do not sign in with it. You sign in with your email address.
