What happens after I report something?
A person reviews your report, not in real time, and SOS does not message you when it closes.
This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.
What the status can say
When you tap Report on the same thing again, the sheet shows one of four messages.
"Waiting for a moderator to look at it."
"A moderator has looked at it."
"A moderator took action."
"A moderator reviewed it and closed it without action."
What staff do
Staff mark a report as reviewed, action taken, or dismissed. That mark records the outcome.
A report marked as reviewed stays in the queue until staff dismiss it or record an action.
What you will not get
SOS does not send you a message when a report is closed.
The sheet shows only the status above. It does not give details of what was done.
The person you report is not told who reported them.
How long it takes
Reports are reviewed by people, not in real time. We can't promise a time.
A report that names self-harm or a suicide concern is flagged as urgent for a person to look at. It is still not answered in real time.
If someone may be in danger
If someone may be in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number. Do not wait for a report to be reviewed.
What happens next
To see where a report stands, open the same menu on the same post or profile and tap Report again.
