What is Kids Mode?
Kids Mode is a simple view for a child, not a safety control, and it does not lock the app.
This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.
What Kids Mode is
Kids Mode is a simplified, colorful home screen for one child profile. It shows big tiles for the child's age group and a feelings check-in with faces.
What it is not
It is not a safety control. It does not lock the app, filter content or limit time.
Most of its buttons open the regular screens, which can show anything the signed-in account can see.
Anyone can leave it. The Leave Kids Mode button asks to confirm, but there is no PIN.
What it records
When a child taps a face in the feelings check-in, SOS saves it to the child's profile on SOS servers. A grown-up can see it in the activity history.
That is the only thing Kids Mode records so far, so the history is often empty.
How to open it
- Open the Family area from the link on this page.
- Tap the child's card.
- Tap Kids Mode. A profile that is switched off has to be reactivated first.
For a real lock
To control what a child can open, use the parental controls built into the phone or tablet. Examples are Screen Time on Apple devices and Family Link on Android.
