It asks me for a code when I sign in
A code comes when you ask for one with Email me a sign-in code, because two-step verification after your password is not available yet.
Steps
- Check your inbox and your spam or junk folder for an email with the subject "Your one-time sign-in code for Solution Oriented Society".
- Type the 8 digits into the code box. A code works once, for 3 minutes, and allows 5 tries.
- If it has run out, ask for a new one. On the sign-in window, tap Send a new code when the countdown ends.
- The article about signing in with a code has the full steps and limits.
- Still no code? Write to admin@sosforchange.org from the address you signed up with.
Where a code comes from
SOS emails a code when you tap Email me a sign-in code on the sign-in screen, or Email one-time code on Forgot Password. Those choices show only when sign-in codes are available.
In Settings, then Security, the Email one-time code row can say Available - send yourself a test code. Its TEST button emails you a code. The screen does not keep that request, so the code cannot sign you in.
Two-step verification
Two-step verification would ask for a code after you type your password. It is not available yet.
In Settings, then Security, the Two-factor sign-in row says Not available yet while it is off.
If it is ever switched on, a box called Two-Factor Auth will say, "Enter the 8-digit code we emailed you." Its Use a different account link cancels that step.
If you did not expect a code
Never share the code with anyone. We never ask you for it.
If a code email arrives and you did not ask for one, you can ignore it. Nothing changes unless someone types the code.
If it keeps happening, use Forgot Password? to choose a new password, then write to admin@sosforchange.org.
