My password reset link says "expired" or "invalid"
Reset links last 30 minutes and work once, so ask for a new one.
Steps
- On the screen, type your email in the Email address box and tap Send a new link. Or tap Forgot Password? on the sign-in screen, type your email and tap Send reset link.
- You can ask again 2 minutes after the last request.
- Open the new email and tap the button in it within 30 minutes. If you copy the link instead, copy all of it.
- Type your new password two times and tap Set new password.
- Still stuck? Write to admin@sosforchange.org from the address you signed up with.
What the two messages mean
"This reset link has expired" means the 30 minutes ran out, or the link was already used. Nothing is wrong with your account.
"This link is incomplete" means part of the link is missing. This often happens when a link is cut off while it is copied.
What is on the page
Both pages have an Email address box and a Send a new link button. You can ask again 2 minutes after the last request, and the button counts down.
After you ask, the page says, "If that address has an account, a link is on its way." It says this for every address.
If SOS cannot confirm that email is working, the button asks for nothing. It tells you to wait a few minutes and try again.
Use the reset page instead takes you to Forgot Password. The last link on the page opens a short guide to this problem.
What happens next
A reset link stops working as soon as you use it to set a new password.
