Is SOS free? Will it always be?
SOS is free to use today, and we have said we will tell you first if that changes.
What is free
Core tools have no paywall, and you do not need a credit card to sign up.
The Plans screen promises that these never go behind a paywall: exporting your data, deleting your account, and crisis and safety resources.
It also lists reporting and blocking tools, core tracking in every section, and syncing between devices.
Will it always be free?
We can't promise that nothing will ever change. What we have put in writing is that core tools have no paywall, and that if any of this changes, we will say so first.
An optional Supporter plan is planned, but it is not open yet. It would be a way to chip in. Nothing in the free plan is taken away to sell it back to you.
How SOS pays its costs
SOS plans to pay for itself with optional supporter plans, partnerships with groups that share its mission, and grants. It runs no ads and does not sell your data.
Cosmetic items, such as color themes, may be offered later. They would change how SOS looks and nothing else. They are not available yet.
