Where are my privacy settings?

Settings

Look in the Privacy & Data part of Settings.

This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.

Steps

  1. Open Settings and scroll to the Privacy & Data section.
  2. Tap Privacy & Security to open the screen with four tabs.
  3. Or use the Usage Analytics switch in the same list. It takes effect at once.

The four tabs

Data Control explains what SOS can store. It has buttons to download your data and to delete your account.

Sharing has the Usage Analytics switch. It also says there are no sharing switches on that screen yet.

Security says SOS has no app lock yet. It shows this device and has a button to sign out.

Your Rights lists rights under privacy laws, a guide to taking your data with you and links to the legal pages.

Saving

The Privacy & Security screen has a Save button. A change to Usage Analytics there counts only after you tap Save. If you leave first, SOS asks if you want to save.

The Usage Analytics switch in the main Settings list saves at once.

The two switches are kept in step. When you change one, SOS changes the other to match. Usage Analytics is off until you turn it on.

Other places

Download My Data is in the same list. Security has your password and email.

Blocked and muted lists the people you hid. The Encrypted Vault is a private store that stays on your device.

Your age shows the age group and date of birth SOS has for you, or asks you to confirm your date of birth. Other members never see them. The row is listed only when SOS is using age groups for accounts.

Not available yet

SOS has no switches to turn whole kinds of data off, no local-only mode and no app lock.

The Privacy & Security screen says so.
