How do I send feedback and see my past reports?
Open Settings, tap Send Feedback, tap Write a note and send it, then find your past notes and our replies under My reports.
This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.
Steps
- Open Settings and tap Send Feedback.
- Tap Write a note. A sheet opens with the note form.
- Choose what kind of note it is: Something's broken, Idea, Question, Thanks or Something else. You can skip this.
- Write your note, up to 2000 characters. A subject is optional, and it can be up to 100 characters.
- Leave Include details about this screen ticked, or untick it. You see what it adds before you send.
- Tap Send note. SOS shows a reference for your note.
My reports
Scroll down on the Send Feedback screen to My reports. The newest note is first.
Each card shows the kind of note, the day you sent it, a status, the subject, the first lines of your note and its reference.
The status is Received, Noted, In progress, Resolved or Not planned.
When we write an answer for you, it shows under Our reply. The card also says how a note ended, for example We fixed this.
That fixed it and Still need help
A note that is still Received or Noted can show two buttons. They are for notes about something broken, a question or something else.
Tap That fixed it if the problem is gone. This lets us know.
Tap Still need help to open a new note that already names your reference.
If sending fails
If a note does not go, SOS says Your note was not sent and gives the reason. What you wrote is still in the form.
Check your connection and tap Send again. If your device is offline, Send note is turned off and the form tells you.
If you close the form before you send, SOS keeps your unfinished note on this device for 7 days.
If the list under My reports does not load, the screen says so. It does not mean you have none.
Include details about this screen
The box starts ticked. Choosing Thanks unticks it, unless you have already changed the box yourself.
Unticked, nothing about the screen or device is sent.
Ticked, it adds the screen you were on, the version of SOS and whether you use a web browser or a phone app.
It also adds whether the device says it is online and the window size, rounded down to the nearest 100 pixels.
It adds the last three kinds of problem SOS ran into. It never adds what a problem said.
You see every line under the box before you send. It leaves out your password, your email address and anything you have written in SOS.
Pictures and screenshots
Photos are not available yet. We are building the safeguards that make sharing pictures safe for everyone.
For now a note cannot carry a picture or a screenshot. Say what you see in your note instead.
Help and Contact
At the bottom of the Send Feedback screen, under Help, are Help Center and Contact us.
Contact us opens a page with our address and how replies work. You can also write to admin@sosforchange.org.
Not for emergencies
A note is not the way to get help in an emergency. If you need to talk to someone now: Call or text 988 at any time to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. You can also text HOME to 741741 to reach the Crisis Text Line. If you are in danger right now, call 911.
What happens next
We read every note. We can't promise a reply time. If we answer, the reply shows under My reports.
