I can't find my food

Food, exercise and body

Try a shorter name, then Quick Picks, then Food Database, then enter the food by hand.

This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.

Steps

  1. Shorten the name. Try one or two plain words, such as "yogurt", and check the spelling. The search says Try a different name or spelling when it finds nothing.
  2. In the Food Diary, look for Quick Picks above the results. They come from SOS's own food list, so they still show when the main search is busy.
  3. If the search says it is busy or cannot be reached, wait a minute and try again.
  4. For a packaged food, add the brand name to your search.
  5. Open Wellness, then Nutrition Hub, then Food Database. On the Search tab, Database mode searches the foods SOS keeps itself.
  6. In the Diet Log, tap Add Food, then tap Enter manually under the search box. Type the food name and the numbers from the package. Tap Log It.
  7. On Home, the Quick Log row has Log Food. Type what you ate and, if you know it, the calories.

Why a food may be missing

The Food Diary searches USDA FoodData Central and SOS's own Quick Picks. The Diet Log also searches Open Food Facts. Home recipes, restaurant dishes and new products are often in none of these.

If you cook the same dish often, save it in My Recipes. Then you can log it from there.
