What changed
The Human Accord was revised in August 2026. Some tenets were reworded, some were combined, and some are new.
Two tenets are new: Love Widely and Hold Loosely.
The list also has a new order, so a tenet's number can be different from before. The name is the better way to find a tenet.
Where the earlier tenets went
Three earlier tenets were joined into others. Revere the First Temple is now part of Cultivate Flourishing.
Protect the Foundation of Civilization and Honor the Social Contract and Legacy are now part of Be a Good Ancestor.
Three tenets have new names. Pursue Truth and Knowledge is now Pursue Truth, Knowledge, and Growth.
Practice Active Altruism is now Practice Active Care. Uphold Equitable Justice is now Uphold Fair Justice.
What happened to your ratings and logs
Your earlier ratings, practice logs and journal entries were kept. They show under the tenet they became.
If you rated both an earlier tenet and the tenet it became, the newest rating is shown. Nothing is averaged, because the two were worded differently.
Love Widely and Hold Loosely start with no ratings or logs of their own, because they are new.
The older Moral Code check-ins
Two screens used to be called Moral Code. They are now called Living the Accord and Ethics and the Accord.
Ratings you made on them against the earlier list stay on the device where you made them. They are not carried over to the current tenets, and nothing is deleted.
Will it change again?
The Accord holds itself loosely, so it may be revised again.
If you have used the Accord before, a short note on the Human Accord screen tells you about a revision. It stays until you tap Got it.
