How do I switch between pounds and kilograms?

Settings

Tap Imperial or Metric under Units in Settings, or tap Weight unit and more.

This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.

Steps

  1. Open Settings and find Units in the Profile & Personalization section.
  2. Tap Imperial or Metric. It takes effect at once.
  3. For a different weight unit, tap Weight unit and more.
  4. On the Units screen, pick Metric, Imperial or US Customary. Then change Weight if you want. Changes save as you make them.

What the options mean

The starting choice is Imperial.

Choosing a system also sets the weight unit: kilograms for Metric, and pounds for the other two. You can change the weight unit after that.

Weight can be kilograms, pounds or stone. The exercise tracker uses the weight unit.

SOS treats Imperial and US Customary the same today.

The screen says the unit system applies across SOS, and many tools follow it.

If your units change back

Setup can save a units choice to your profile. The Macro Calculator in Nutrition only follows the units in your profile and never changes them.

SOS copies that profile choice to this device each time your profile loads. So a different choice in Settings can be replaced after you reopen or reload SOS.

If this happens to you, tap Make my units match on this page. It sets your Settings to the units in your profile, and you can undo it for a few seconds.

You can also tell us through Send Feedback.

What is not on this screen

Height, distance, temperature, volume and speed choices were taken out because nothing used them.

The Nutrition Targets calculator follows your units. It asks for inches and pounds if you use imperial, and centimeters and kilograms if you use metric.

Date, time and currency formats are not here either.

Start again

Reset to Metric Defaults asks you first. It sets Metric and kilograms.

Your units are saved on this device, not on your account.
