What can I do in Security settings?

Settings

In Security you can change your password or email.

This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.

Steps

  1. Open Settings and tap Security in the Privacy & Data section.
  2. Find the section you need on the screen, such as Password or Email address.

Password and other devices

Tap Change Password. The new password needs at least 8 characters.

Changing it signs out every other device. The Sign out other devices row opens the same box.

Email address

Your email address shows as Verified or Not verified.

Tap Change email address, type the new address and tap Send confirmation link.

Nothing changes until you open the link we send to the new address and enter your current password. After that you sign in again with the new address.

A new account has to wait 24 hours before it can change its email. You can ask 3 times in 24 hours.

Face ID or fingerprint

This works on a phone that has Face ID or a fingerprint set up. If not, the screen says it is not available on this device.

Turning it on saves your email and password in your device's secure storage. Your fingerprint or face data stays on your device.

It does not lock SOS while you use it. Signing out removes the saved sign-in, so turn it on again afterwards.

Two-factor sign-in

This section only shows what the server has turned on. If it says Not available yet, there is nothing to set up.

When it is on, the screen says that signing in also asks for an emailed code.

If it says Couldn't check right now, tap Try again under the section.

Connected accounts

If a social sign-in is set up on the server, you can link it here. Linking lets you sign in without typing your password.

Delete your account

Delete Account is in the Danger Zone at the bottom. It deletes your account and data for good and cannot be undone.
