How do I change my country for crisis numbers?
You are not alone. Open Get help now and tap the country link to choose yours. For the United States: Call or text 988 at any time to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. You can also text HOME to 741741 to reach the Crisis Text Line. If you are in danger right now, call 911.
Change your country
Tap Get help now. It is the life ring button. It floats at the bottom left of the screen. On a wide screen, when you are signed in, it is at the bottom of the menu on the left instead. A sheet called Support Resources opens.
Near the top, tap Choose your country. If a country is already shown, tap the link that ends in Change country. Then tap your country.
The list has the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. It also has India, Germany, France, Spain, Brazil and Mexico.
If yours is not on the list, tap Another country.
What each choice shows
A country shows the call and text lines for that country, and a link to find a helpline.
Another country shows helpline directories and tells you to use your local emergency number.
Use my device's region goes back to the automatic choice.
How SOS picks without your choice
SOS uses your device's region. If it cannot tell where you are, it shows the United States numbers first and says so.
Your choice is saved on this device only. The Get help now sheet works without an account and without a connection.
