How do I track my net worth?
Add your accounts in Financial Profile, and SOS shows what you own minus what you owe.
This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.
Steps
- Open the Wealth tab. Under Core Tools, tap Financial Profile.
- Tap Accounts, then tap Add Account.
- Type an account name and choose a type. Assets such as Checking and Savings come first, then debts such as Credit Card and Student Loan.
- Type the balance, or the balance you owe for a debt. Institution, rate and notes are optional.
- Tap Save Account. Add your other accounts the same way.
- Open the Net Worth view to see the total. Net worth is what you own minus what you owe.
- To keep a history, set the level at the top to Advanced. In the Net Worth view, tap Snapshot under Net Worth History.
Two net worth tools
Wealth has two net worth tools. Financial Profile saves to your account. Net Worth Tracker keeps its entries only on this device, in this browser or app.
The net worth number on the Wealth home screen comes from Financial Profile. Accounts you add in Net Worth Tracker do not show there, and Financial Profile does not read them.
Good to know
Every number comes from balances you type. SOS does not connect to your bank, so update a balance when it changes.
Hide from net worth calculation leaves an account out of the total without deleting it.
Deleting an account asks you to confirm, and it cannot be undone.
