How do I import or export a calendar file?

Goals, calendar and Home

Open settings in Calendar, then find import and export on the Integration Guide tab.

This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.

Steps

  1. Open Calendar and tap the settings button at the top right, the one with two small sliders. This opens Calendar Sync.
  2. Open the Integration Guide tab and tap Import / Export .ics Files. The screen is called iCal Import / Export.
  3. To export, choose a Date Range, from Next 7 days to All time, and tap Export & Share .ics. Your device's share sheet opens.
  4. To import, tap Choose .ics File where it is offered, or paste the file's text into the box.
  5. Tap Preview Events and check the list.
  6. Tap the Import button, which shows the number of events. SOS tells you how many it saved and how many already existed.

Good to know

Export shares your calendar as text. Some apps want a file that ends in .ics, so you may need to save the text as one first.

If your browser cannot share, you see Export Failed. Try a different browser or your phone.

SOS refuses a file over 5 MB. Export a shorter date range and try again.

Importing is a one-time copy, not a live sync. Events that already exist are skipped, and the new ones are saved to your account.

Take care with private events

SOS does not read the private or confidential flags in a file. Remove sensitive events from the file before you import it.

The screen lists how to get the file from Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook.
