What is a Goal Autopsy?
A Goal Autopsy is a six-step look back at a goal you stopped, saved on your device only.
This needs an account. Sign in to the app first.
What it is
It is a short guided reflection on a goal that stalled or that you let go. The idea is to learn from it, not to judge yourself.
It is a way to think things through. It is not therapy.
The six steps
The steps are What Happened?, Root Cause Analysis, The 5 Whys, What You Could Have Done, The Lesson and Forward Plan.
In Forward Plan you choose Retry with changes, Pivot to a related goal, or Let it go completely.
How to run one
- Open the Goals tab, tap Vision, scroll to Goal Tools and tap Goal Autopsy.
- Tap a goal that is abandoned or archived. To use an active or paused goal, mark it as abandoned on this screen first. SOS asks you to confirm, and you can reopen the goal later.
- Work through the steps and tap Continue between them.
- On the last step, choose a forward plan and tap Complete Autopsy.
Where it is saved
Your autopsies are saved on this device only, under your account on this device. They will not be on another phone or browser.
If SOS cannot save one, it tells you and asks you to complete it again.
