We collect only what's needed to make the app work. We do not sell your data. We do not share your health, financial, or personal data with advertisers. You can delete everything at any time. We store your data on secure servers and give you full control over it.
1 Who We Are
Solution Oriented Society ("SOS," "we," "us," or "our") is an educational wellness and personal development platform. Our mission is to empower individuals with knowledge and tools across five life domains: Wellness, Fitness, Wealth, Community, and Intel.
This Privacy Policy applies to the SOS mobile application, web application, and any related services (collectively, the "Service").
We collect information you provide directly, information generated by your use of the Service, and limited technical information needed for the app to function.

4 Sensitive Data (Health & Financial)

You control what you enter
All health and financial data is entirely optional. You may use SOS without entering any health or financial information. The app works as an educational tool regardless.
4.1 Health Data
We treat all health and wellness data as sensitive. Specifically:
Health data is stored encrypted on our servers
We never sell or share health data with insurance companies, employers, or advertisers
Health data is never used to make automated decisions about you
Mental health journal entries are private to you and never reviewed by our staff except as required by law (e.g., imminent threat to life)
Addiction recovery data is treated with the highest level of confidentiality
4.2 Financial Data
Financial data you enter (budgets, balances, goals) is stored on our servers and used solely to power your in-app dashboards. We do not share this data with any financial institution, credit bureau, or advertiser. We do not connect to your bank accounts β all financial figures are entered manually by you.
5 How We Share Data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
5.1 Service Providers
We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate the app:
Cloud hosting provider β to store app data securely on servers
Error monitoring β to detect and fix crashes (crash reports contain no health or financial data)
Email service β to send account-related emails (password reset, etc.)
All service providers are contractually bound to use your data only to provide services to us and to maintain appropriate security measures.
5.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of SOS, our users, or the public.
5.3 Business Transfers
If SOS is acquired, merged, or undergoes a similar transaction, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before this happens and your rights under this policy will continue to apply.
5.4 With Your Consent
We may share data in other ways if you explicitly consent to it.

6 Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. We implement the following security measures:
Encryption in transit: All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
Encryption at rest: Sensitive data is encrypted in our database
Password hashing: Passwords are stored using bcrypt β we cannot recover your password
Access controls: Only authorized personnel can access production data, and only when necessary for support or security purposes
Regular security reviews: We conduct periodic security assessments
No system is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat our security measures. If a security breach occurs that affects your data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
7 Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specific retention periods:
Account data: Retained until you delete your account
Health & financial data: Retained until you delete the specific records or your account
Usage/analytics data: Retained for up to 24 months in anonymized form
Error logs: Retained for up to 90 days
Legal compliance data: Retained as required by applicable law (typically 3β7 years)
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

9 Children's Privacy

Minimum age: 13 years old (18 for financial features)
SOS is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use this Service. Certain financial features (investment tracking, retirement planning, etc.) are intended for users 18 and older.
If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that data promptly. If you believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@solutionorientedsociety.com.
10 GDPR (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the following additional rights and protections apply under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

12 Cookies & Tracking
Mobile App
The SOS mobile app does not use cookies. We use local device storage (AsyncStorage) to save your preferences and authentication tokens on your device only.
Web App
The SOS web app uses:
Strictly necessary: Session authentication tokens required to keep you logged in
Service worker cache: For offline functionality (caches app files on your device, not personal data)
We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or behavioral analytics that track you across other websites.
13 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will:
Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
Send an email notification to your registered email address
Display an in-app notification the next time you open the app
Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If you disagree with the changes, you may delete your account at any time.
